Why the Mountain is Not Enough
For the past couple of weeks there has been an internal struggle about whether I am on the mountain or in the valley. I know I am blessed beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. However, there is more that my heart tells me that I need. It is an active battle to choose to be blessed rather than sob over the things I have no control over. My Mountain I am living in an answered prayer. For those of you that know me, you already know my story. For the new people here, hi, welcome in. I will give a quick rundown. I started dating my husband when…

Rest and Wearied
Some days I feel like Elijah in 1 Kings 19. Tired, running, and done with it all feels like an understatement. Life can be hard sometimes in a world that promotes multitasking. You cannot juggle everything at once or it will all fall down. Where do you turn to find help? Do you take a nap or push through? Today, I am tired. Here are some words of encouragement for when you feel as I do. God provides rest. 1 Kings 19 7 The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.”…

New Year, New Me
We are now in December! I don’t know about you but this year has flown by for me. Now is the time to start our planning for how we would like the upcoming year to go. There are a few considerations to keep in mind when planning. Who are you changing for? What is your purpose behind becoming financially prepared? Have you invited God into your plans? Who Are You Changing For? Are you wanting to change your style, brand, or personality in 2025? Why? What is the reason behind this choice? Is it you, another person, or just because? Commit whatever it is you are doing to the Lord.…

Christmas Miracles
The best part about Christmas is that the love people show to each other seems to dramatically increase. There are two reasons behind the love that I see shown during the holiday season. Let’s take one scenario and show the two reasons.Scenario: sad neighbor who sits alone for Christmas. Reason One: Some people show love to others to show the love of God. God tells us several times to love one another in His word. However, it is unfortunate that this love is mostly held for holidays. You invite your neighbor over to celebrate the holidays with you and your family. The neighbor leaves feeling less alone and that God…

Being Seen
One of my biggest fears before I came to know Christ wasn’t snakes or spiders. My fear was being seen. Not in a “oh, I was noticed by another person” way, but rather in a “not only are my good deeds and accomplishments under scrutiny, but so are my flaws” way. I did not want to be noticed that closely by anyone. It felt like I was on a stage with a spotlight on me and the crowd had no facial expression if it was good or bad. There were two times that I felt this way: 1) going to God and 2) telling others about God. Going to God…

Two Masters
This week I have had something on my heart to speak about. God has been going more in-depth on the topic of having two masters. I used to scoff at the idea of serving two masters as if it was an easy decision, serve God. However, God has shown me that there are more ways to serve money than I had originally thought. 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24 Before, I always thought I could never serve money.…

2024 Election Thoughts
As we near election day, there are a few things that have been on my mind. Anger, fear, and resentment are crowded around this election. We are not called to behave like this. Neighbor is turning against neighbor. People are flipping tables for the wrong reasons. I wrote some verses down that I really hope helps you during this election season. 14 They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.” Revelation 17:14. Regardless of who sits in office, Jesus sits on the throne forever.…

Preparing for Christmas 2024
Who is excited for Christmas? I am excited to see people have the emotions of Christmas. The love, kindness, and joy seems to be missing the rest of the year for some. The world creeps in during those months. I put my Christmas tree up two weeks ago! Two of the hardest parts of Christmas is buying presents (everything is expensive) and deciding what to give to who. Guidelines for Christmas Shopping in 2024: 1) Give something that will help them long-term. Matthew 6:19-21 = 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store…

Preparing For Blessings
How do you make preparations for the blessings you pray for? It may not even cross your mind to make preparations. There are a few feelings when praying that may increase or decrease your reluctance to make preparations.1) You could feel as if God will for sure provide what you prayed for.2) There could be some feelings of trepidation and doubt.3) Sometimes there are feelings as if God will not be able to deliver on your prayer. (Hint: He can answer any prayer since no mountain is too tall for Him.) Where Do I Start With Preparations? First, we will start at the beginning with the prayer. In Philippians 4:6-7,…

No Haunts in This Home
As Halloween nears, my husband and I are breaking customs. We will not be celebrating Halloween. No candy or spooky vibes will be found in our home. The decision to not celebrate has been founded on a few reasons. I Will Not Tolerate What Jesus Has Saved Me From One of my many sins that I committed before I had a relationship with Jesus is that I was more obsessed with worldly things and any mythical/magical thing. I choose now to not entertain any of it because I know my personality. If I allow one thing then I chance allowing anything in to hyper-fixate on. None of it is worth…
