New Year, New Me

We are now in December! I don’t know about you but this year has flown by for me. Now is the time to start our planning for how we would like the upcoming year to go. There are a few considerations to keep in mind when planning. Who are you changing for? What is your purpose behind becoming financially prepared? Have you invited God into your plans?

Who Are You Changing For?

Are you wanting to change your style, brand, or personality in 2025? Why? What is the reason behind this choice? Is it you, another person, or just because? Commit whatever it is you are doing to the Lord. If you want to change for another person, keep in mind that the other person will not be the one to account for you when the time comes.

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Colossians 3:23-25.

What is Your Purpose?

I have seen countless videos of people wanting to change their financial well-being in the new year. Some are saving for something huge and some just want to save. Either one is fine to do. Just be aware of the purpose behind the savings. Do not let the idea of having money change your heart to serve it rather than God.

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10.

Have You Invited God?

God is with us through every step we take in our lives. This New Year will be no different. God does not pack up and come back at Christmas time or Easter Sundays. Every change you make, God sees. You are sometimes the first way people encounter God. Invite Him into whatever changes you want to make. Let Him help you form good habits. Please take a moment to read all of Proverbs 16.

9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Proverbs 16:9.

A few of the habits that I plan to include in the New Year is journaling more, focusing more on my war room (best movie), and taking walks with God. No music, no screen time, only the world God created and me.

As always, God loves you, I love you, and I will be praying for you! Have a blessed week!
